Each member possesses direct, hands-on expertise with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and various civilian agency supplements.
Their qualifications include:
- Advanced academic credentials and subject matter specialization
- Extensive industry experience in federal contracting environments
- Leadership roles within military, federal agencies, or large-scale organizations
- Proven success in managing teams of 20+ personnel
- Oversight of multimillion-dollar budgets (exceeding $3 million)
These board members are uniquely positioned to bridge the knowledge gap between federal project requirements, private industry best practices, and the evolving needs of small business contractors. Key Responsibilities:
- Governance: Ensuring all FCCoC activities align with the organization’s bylaws, policies, and mission.
- Financial Oversight: Reviewing and approving budgets, monitoring financial performance, and upholding fiduciary responsibility.
- Strategic Direction: Providing expert input to inform long-term strategy, programs, and advocacy efforts based on deep federal contracting experience.
- External Relations: Serving as connectors and ambassadors, facilitating partnerships, policy engagement, and growth opportunities for FCCoC and its members.
Subject Matter Expertise (SME) Contributions:
In addition to their governance roles, BOD members often serve as SMEs who:
- Guide leadership and organizations in understanding FAR, DFARS, statutes, and agency-specific policies
- Assist in interpreting project objectives, acquisition strategies, and regulatory procedures
- Support the development of knowledge-based teams and internal contracting capacity
- Contribute to the creation of compliant project deliverables, documentation, and training materials
- Ensure deliverables meet technical standards, current laws, and best practices
- BOD with 2 years qualifying service have first opportunities for both State & City Directions [paid] positions
