The FCCOC® Contracting Case Laws Studies Program is an after-hours training operation designed for contractors who understand that mastering the basics of federal acquisition law is a mission requirement—not an option. Conducted in conjunction with our legal partners, practicing attorneys, and senior law students from leading universities, this program delivers real-world legal intelligence that shapes how contractors think, act, and defend their positions in the federal marketplace.
Each session is a strategic legal briefing focused on dissecting case law, GAO protests, bid disputes, terminations, and precedent-setting rulings that define the rules of engagement in contracting. Participants gain mission-critical insight into how legal decisions impact acquisition strategy, compliance execution, and contract performance under the FAR and DFARS. Led by legal professionals and academic allies who operate at the intersection of law and procurement, every session turns complex rulings into actionable strategy for contractors on the front lines.
FCCOC® Contracting Case Law Night School is not just education—it’s a combat readiness course in legal awareness and competitive defense. It equips federal contractors to anticipate risk, interpret precedent, and respond with confidence when the mission is on the line. Through disciplined study, direct mentorship, and collaborative discussion, participants become legally fortified, strategically informed, and operationally prepared to win—and keep—federal contracts.
Federal contracting caselaw studies are essential for understanding the application and interpretation of laws, regulations, and policies related to federal contracts. FCCOC® CASELAW DEBRIEF INSTRUCTOR – VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Why Participate: Serving as an FCCOC® CaseLaw Debrief Instructor provides an attorney partner or law student (junior year and above) with an opportunity to contribute to federal contracting education while developing practical knowledge of government procurement law. The program bridges the gap between legal theory and real-world procurement application by examining federal acquisition decisions, interpreting relevant statutes, regulations, FAR/DFARS provisions, and analyzing how GAO and other applicable legal decisions influence procurement practices and contractor responsibilities. For attorneys, it provides an opportunity to share professional knowledge and support the development of a more informed contracting community.
For law students, it offers valuable exposure to government contracts law, legal research, case analysis, and the practical application of procurement principles.
Volunteer Duties & Professional Development: Volunteer instructors assist in researching, preparing, and presenting case law debriefs; identifying the relevant legal issues, rules, and decisions; explaining the facts, reasoning, and practical implications of procurement cases; and facilitating participant discussions and questions. Instructors may also contribute to developing case summaries, instructional materials, quizzes, and learning exercises. Participation offers attorneys an opportunity to contribute to professional education and industry development, while junior and senior law students gain practical research, analytical, presentation, and instructional experience in a specialized area of law.
This is a volunteer educational opportunity, not legal representation or individualized legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship.
